Deposit Slips are a convenient feature in PracticePanther that will save you time and effort as you organize your payments into batches, reflecting the reality of making a deposit at your preferred bank.

Using Deposit Slips

Accessing deposit slips is easy - you can simply navigate to the Deposit Slip History page from the Payments > Bank Accounts > Deposit Slips menu on the navigation bar.

This page will display all of the deposit slips that have been created by your firm. From here, you can view the details of a deposit slip, which includes the payments that are listed in the deposit, the number of payments, and the total amount of the deposit. You can also create a new deposit slip.

There are two types of deposit slips. A manual deposit slip is created by you to track the manual payments accumulated to be deposited into your bank account. The PantherPayments deposit slip is automatically created and represents the total batch deposit of online payments deposited into your PantherPayments bank account.

Creating a Deposit Slip

1) Click the green New button from the Deposit Slip History page.

2) Select the appropriate bank account. This will default to the firm's default operating bank account, but can be changed.

3) Select the payments that you want to add to the deposit slip.

Note: The payment methods will only include Cash or Check.

3) Once all of your desired payments for deposit have been selected, scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll see the Deposit Date - this will default to today's date, but will also allow you to select whichever date you are going to deposit the money into the bank. Then you can select Save & Download.

4) The deposit slip file will be downloaded to your computer and the Deposit Slip details page will be displayed for any further review.

Printing Deposit Slips

Printing your deposit slip is easy! Once the created deposit slip is saved and downloaded to your computer, you can open your downloads and select to print.

Editing a Deposit Slip

The Deposit Date field can be edited on a deposit slip by selecting the Edit Deposit Date option on the Deposit Slip menu.

*Note: This will only allow you to edit the deposit date for that slip.

You cannot edit the Payments associated with a deposit slip, once created. If you need to modify the payments associated with a deposit slip, you must delete and create a new deposit slip with the desired payments:

1) Select the deposit slip that includes the payment(s) you need to remove.

2) Click the Actions menu and select Delete.

3) The deposit slip will be deleted, making the previously associated payments available to be added to a new deposit slip.

View Details

You can view the details of that deposit slip, including the associated payments and information about the deposit slip itself.

1) Click the three dots to the left of the deposit slip you created and select View Details.

2) From here you can view the payments associated with that deposit slip. The pencil icon allows you to edit the deposit date, the trash icon allows you to delete the deposit slip, and the Download button allows you to download the slip again, if needed.

Hiding Available Payments

When creating a new deposit slip there may be payments that you want to remove from the list of available payments. These could include payments that have already been deposited or are simply not candidates for a deposit slip. These payments can be hidden so only the relevant payments are displayed.

1) Locate the payment you wish to hide and select the Hide action on the row. This will remove the payment from view.

2) Alternatively, if you have multiple payments to hide you can select all the applicable payments using the checkboxes on the rows and choose the Actions > Hide option to hide all selected payments.

3) Use the Show Hidden action if you ever need to review and include a previously hidden payment on a deposit slip.

What Happens Now?

Now that you have created, downloaded and printed your deposit slip(s), you are ready to take those cash and check payments to the bank.
