When setting up PantherAccounting Plus you can choose to use our law firm-specific default chart of accounts or, if you’re moving from another system and/or have your own chart of accounts you can choose to import your own using a spreadsheet.
To import your Chart of Accounts follow the steps below:
Choose the Import Chart of Accounts radio option.
A list of required accounts for PantherAccounting Plus are listed. Review your own chart of accounts before importing to avoid duplicating any of these required accounts.
Click Next.
Download the Excel template that includes the account number and account name which you can use to populate your existing chart of accounts.
Once you have your Excel file populated with your chart of accounts, choose Upload File. Locate and select your file. Click Next.
Match the name of the appropriate column on your spreadsheet to Account number. Do the same for Account Name and click Next.
You’ll be presented with your list of account numbers and names. Using the checkboxes select the accounts you wish to import. Specify the relevant Account Category for each account. An account can be one of the following categories:
Asset
Liability
Revenue
Expense
Equity

Once all categories have been specified click Import.
You will be presented with your chart of accounts - both your imported accounts and the accounts required for PantherAccounting Plus.
Note: You can always make additional changes to your chart of accounts once the onboarding is complete.
Click Continue.

You will proceed with step 2 of onboarding.
